Read up on your fellow members and find out what you have in common with them.

And be sure to get to know them “face to face’ at our next luncheon!

This month our spotlight is on Dr. Robert “Bob” Stecker.

Name: Dr. Robert Stecker

Occupation: Transition Guidance

Family: Widowed. Two sons, Phillip in Medicine, James, a missionary in East Asia dad of three, and one daughter, Carol, who is a mom of four. My seven grandchildren are the greatest joys of my life.

What I enjoy most about Spirit Systems is: The interaction with those open to Spirit in work and a place to explore new information and to unwind.

My best asset: Living into wisdom of 77 years to surface to enrich life and those around.

To unwind, I: Go out in nature; harvest fruits of eldership of 77 years. Go to movies. Read recreationally; Forbes and New Yorker.

My favorite city: Taos, NM

Favorite vacation destination: Taos, NM

All time favorite movie: Shawshank Redemption

I am currently reading: Elder Within by Terry Jones

Best book I have ever read: The Road Less Traveled

Favorite Restaurant: Daniel Wongs (two doors down from my office / office away from my office)

Hobbies: Photography and Grandchildren

I collect: No more! I am shedding!

Favorite subject in school: Theatre

Favorite Quotation, Cliché or Expression: “If it ain’t broke – don’t fix it!” and “Make God laugh, tell Him your plans”

Best advice I’d give to a 20 year old: Live into your dream, go inside, do what you are driven. Forget about the traditional wisdom of putting money away, the undertaker doesn’t have a trailer hitch on the back of the hearse. Enjoy and find your gifts and use them for yourself.

I’d love to have a conversation with: Albert Einstein

People describe me as: Elder beyond description

The holiest of holidays are those Kept by ourselves in silence and apart; The secret anniversaries of the heart. ~ Henry Wadsworth Longfellow

May your holiday season be filled with peace, love, joy and all that is dear to you.
